I am looking at a B7200HSE with about 600hrs. w/ a Kubota loader. It is a 2wd model w/out power steering, in good condition except for some of the hydralic lines on the loader, which are starting to bleed through. I have read many posts on this board about the need for 4wd and p/s for loader work, but I am on a tight budget. I plan to use it to mow about 5 flat acres and use the loader for some dirt moving and manure duty. Will this tractor do the job or should I look elsewhere. Also the dealer is asking about $7000, which seems a bit high. Would this be a good deal if I could get it for about $6000-$6500?

Mike, you're right; I recommend 4WD and power steering. But unfortunately, I also understand budgets. That tractor will do the jobs you mentioned; need a little more muscle to turn it, but even that was not a problem for me, except when I had a heavy load in the bucket. And if you don't have enough counter-weight on the rear end, you can pick up enough with the front end loader to make the rear end light enough that you may just spin the rear wheels instead of going anywhere. In other words, you may have to take smaller "bites" and take a little longer to do some jobs. Not the "ideal" tractor, but then my '81 Ford ain't the ideal pickup to pull a trailer with either, but it does the job. LOL As far as what it's worth; I really don't know, but am inclined to think you have it about right. ....

I bought a 7200 with I think 1020 hrs for $5000.
4 wd/loader/bush hog in decent condition
Don't know if I paid too much given the hrs but everything seems to be running fine (knock on wood).
My property is not flat and 4wd is definitely something I use a lot.
Good luck. ....
